Piedmont Triad Woodturners Association is an active, friendly group of individuals all with a common interest in woodturning. We have a wide range of talent in the group ranging from some who are recognized nationally for their talent and those who are learning to turn. Interaction between members and their desire to share their knowledge with each other is evident from the conversations between members at our meetings. Our goal is to provide the community with an opportunity to experience the craft of woodturning through sharing, demonstrating and teaching.
Our meetings begin with a lot of interaction between members as they arrive and bring recent work for the instant gallery. The instant gallery often has a new members first piece and also pieces that we are all interested in learning how they turned and finished it. As the instant gallery is presented, members are given a chance to tell something about their entry.
A demonstration is usually part of each meeting, sometimes by one of our members and sometimes by a nationally known invited guest. There is always a time for questions and answers. Sharing ideas and knowledge is the lifeline for all woodturners. We pride ourselves in achieving the best possible method and then sharing our knowledge with others. Our desire is to provide something for each member whether a beginner or experienced turner.
Our meetings are open to everyone so visit with us and experience what we have to offer. You do not have to be a member to attend our meetings, but, if you wish to join our Chapter, please click here to access the Membership Application or Renewal Form
